Are you tired and fed up of older women in their 60′s and above having children due to IVF?

Question by X Angel 14 X: Are you tired and fed up of older women in their 60′s and above having children due to IVF?
i am 15 and to me i believe that women should have children before their biological clock stops (menopause). i heard that a 66 year old women in britain (where i live) has become pregnant due to IVF treatment while she was abroad because in the Uk doctors dont allow women over 50 to have IVF. a lot of this is to do with women being more career minded nowadays but i think these women are not only sick to have a kid later on in life and stupid because who will look after the kids when they die? but are selfish because they want their cake and they want to eat it too. i mean when say a 60 year old woman gives birth and ten years later the kid is 10 the woman will be 70. she is old enough to be his gran and she will be mistaken for the child’s gran, now that is sick.

what do you think?

Could It Be…Perimenopause?: How Women 35-50 Can Overcome Forgetfulness, Mood Swings, Insomnia, Weight Gain, Sexual Dysfunction and Other Telltale Signs of Hormonal Imbalance

A groundbreaking & definitive guide to alleviating the symptoms most women experience during the decade before menopause. With a clear & compassionate discussion of both physical & emotional issues, Dr. Goldstein shows women how to exchange the chronic subtle & not-so-subtle symptoms of perimenopause for greater vitality & health. The decade before menopause, says Dr. Stephen R. Goldstein, is a time of profound change–both physically and emotionally–yet many women don’t realize this. They may try to ignore subtle-to-bothersome symptoms such as erratic menstruation, “free-floating anxiety, inability to concentrate,” forgetfulness, weight gain, sexual difficulties, and insomnia, when they could be effectively treating these problems. Unfortunately, not all doctors recognize perimenopause or know how to treat its symptoms, which may lead them to discount patients’ complaints, or worse, suggest unnecessary treatments–including hysterectomies. That’s where Could It Be … Perimenopause? can help.

In clear, supportive prose, Goldstein offers no-baloney advice. “Today’s perimenopausal women has neither the time nor the patience to go through four to fifteen years of symptoms without relief,” he says. He fully delineates the roles of various hormones, how to determine if you’re in perimenopause or not, as well as how to treat the various symptoms to gain control over your life. He’s a big advocate of low- and ultra-low-dose birth-control pills: “There is nothing inherently advantageous about bursting the capsule of your ovary and having to repair it each month. There’s no reason for having fluctuating levels of hormones floating around unless you want to have a baby.” He also recommends some natural and herbal treatments (he tells which ones are more appropriate for menopausal or postmenopausal women, and which are worthless or even dangerous). He’s also a big promoter of sonohysterography, a type of ultrasound test that he says could prevent up to three-fourths of all emergency-room visits made by women with excessive uterine bleeding.

With added resources, including URLs for recommended newsgroups, Web sites, and medical databases, along with information about the very latest in treatments (such as crinone, a natural progesterone gel), Goldstein’s created an enormously beneficial reference for both women and health-care providers who could stand to brush up on this topic.

Mayo Clinic finds estrogen may protect younger menopausal women from strokes

No Comments 21 April 2012

Estrogen may prevent strokes in premature or early menopausal women, Mayo Clinic researchers say. Their findings challenge the conventional wisdom that estrogen is always a risk factor for stroke at all ages. The study was published in the journal Menopause. Researchers combined the results from a recent Mayo Clinic study with 6 other studies from across the world and found that estrogen is protective for stroke before age 50 years. Age 50 is the approximate average age when women go through menopause. “We were very surprised because these results were unexpected,” says study author Walter Rocca, MD, an epidemiologist and neurologist at Mayo Clinic. “The old idea that estrogen is always a problem in the brain has to be corrected.” Estrogen can be a problem in older women, he explains, but in younger women, estrogen may be important to protect the brain from strokes. The study has implications for women who experience premature (before age 40 years) or early menopause (before age 45 years) from natural causes or from ovary removal. Women in these groups should consider taking estrogen up to approximately age 50 to prevent stroke, Dr. Rocca says. Ischemic stroke occurs as a result of an obstruction within a blood vessel supplying blood to the brain. According to the American Stroke Association, these types of strokes account for 87 percent of all stroke cases.

www.healthybalanceddiet.org Average Age of Menopause Average Age of Menopause Menopause generally happens between the ages of 45 to 55 years old. According to studies, back in the olden days, menopause did not happen until the average age of 60 years old but as time went by, the average age of menopause occurred between the ages of 40s to 50s. The reason for this could be due to the current lifestyle that women have these days along with caffeine and alcohol consumption. Early Menopause Although the average of menopause happens between the mid-40s to 50s, there is such thing as the early menopause which can happen during the 30s. There are a number of reasons as to why some women experience early menopause. There are women who undergo early menopause after undergoing hysterectomy or the surgical removal of all or part of the uterus. Women who are chronic cigarette smokers may also experience early menopause. Other causes of early menopause are the surgical removal of the ovaries (oophorectomy), chemotherapy medications, trauma and artificial radiation. For more info please visit http
